Beck Boston Concert reviews
Imagine Dragons were great, but the venue was very echoey
Beck was fantastic. His live voice sounds just as good as on the radio, with uplifting beats and great music all around, as many of you likely know. I'm really glad I attended, despite the sound problems. Macklemore brought great energy, but the echo was a major distraction for me. I wished to enjoy it more, and my friend across the stadium thought he was excellent. I still rate Beck with 5 stars, I enjoy their music and they gave it their all.
We arrived early, the 2nd group to enter after security. We never received the glowing bracelets that everyone else had. It wasn't until 4 hours later during Beck's performance that we realized they had cool light-up bracelets, and we observed 30,000 others wearing them. I inquired with the staff, but they didn't have any and seemed indifferent. Next time, they should ensure they have extras available in each section.
Kings Elliot's performance was somewhat lackluster and dull, but I'm not familiar with her or her songs, so that may be the reason. However, her singing is good.
The primary issue was the excessive echoing throughout the entire concert. We could hardly comprehend 80% of what anyone was saying, and the artists spoke quite a bit between songs. This made the experience less enjoyable. While all concerts have some echo, this was the worst I've encountered. Perhaps it was specific to our section, but we were not in a poor or overly inexpensive area, so I expected better. Last year, we attended Guns N' Roses at Allegiant with floor seats, experiencing some echo but still understanding most of what was said. The situation might have improved after Macklemore, as Beck's set had slightly less echo, though it was still noticeable. The echoing particularly detracted from Macklemore's songs, especially during the rap segments, which sound much better on the radio. Overall, Beck's songs were mostly enjoyable, leading me to believe that some adjustments were made between performances.
